Profile
A geomorphologist specializing in Quaternary geology and stratigraphy. Her research focuses on reconstructing depositional environments, sediment provenance, and the intensity of weathering at the microscale based on the surface micromorphology of quartz sand grains and silt-sized particles. For many years, she has also specialized in geoarchaeology, including the sedimentary record of human activity and the influence of past climate change on human societies.
Research area: surface micromorphology of quartz sand grains, sources of aeolian dust and the processes responsible for the production of silt-sized particles, aeolian, glacial, and periglacial environments, including the development of aeolian processes under different climatic conditions and in various climate zones, microscale frost weathering in modern and fossil active layers.
